Pacific Baseball Umpires members come from all kinds of backgrounds and professions. What is common to all of us is an affinity for the game of baseball, as well as a commitment to what it means to be an official, a sense of fair play and sportsmanship, integrity, decisiveness and sound judgment. It's a challenging job but we love being on the field and we love bringing new members into the fold. We were all inexperienced at one time so we're here not only to serve our customers and the local community, but to teach and train new umpires.
Pacific Baseball Umpires is a non-profit organization and is run by a board of directors that includes a President, Vice-President, Past-President and 4 General Board Members. Our non-voting board positions include a Treasurer, Secretary, Assignor, Umpire Development Program manager (UDP), Operations guru (Ways and Means), Recruiter, and Tournament Director. We typically have about 100 active members each year. Our elected president through the 2021 season is Nathan Thernes (email@example.com).
