about pacific Umpires

Pacific Baseball Umpires has been a premier baseball umpire association in Southern California since 2003, and remains dedicated and committed to Umpiring Excellence through continued training & skill improvement, serving the San Diego baseball community.

The Pacific Baseball Umpires organization offers training tailored for new umpires as well as experienced umpires. We will help you train and develop your umpire skills, with a focus for you to umpire at the high school baseball level.

The Pacific Umpires core values of commitment to Training and peer-mentoring, along with Camaraderie, & Professionalism, will help you build, maintain, and improve your umpiring skills, allowing you to achieve your peak baseball umpiring potential.

Pacific Baseball Umpires members come from all kinds of backgrounds and professions.  What is common to all of us is an affinity for the game of baseball, as well as a commitment to what it means to be an official, a sense of fair play and sportsmanship, integrity, decisiveness and sound judgment.  It's a challenging job but we love being on the field and we love bringing new members into the fold.  We were all inexperienced at one time so we're here not only to serve our customers and the local community, but to teach and train new umpires.

Pacific Baseball Umpires is a non-profit organization and is run by a board of directors that includes a President, Vice-President, Past-President and 4 General Board Members.  Our non-voting board positions include a Treasurer, Secretary, Assignor, Umpire Development Program manager (UDP), Operations guru (Ways and Means), Recruiter, and Tournament Director.  We typically have about 80 active members each year.
